Thunder Mountain was written as a request from high school teacher and friend David Wright as he was vacationing in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Dave sent me breathtaking photos he took of the nature surrounding him. In his words- "Offering inspiration in hopes you would write a song about the Great Smoky Mountains through pictures, I know it may be a lot to ask... but I figured professional musicians are always looking for inspiration". Dave sadly passed away a few months later. I immediately picked up my guitar when I received the news and wrote the song he offered inspiration for. My hope is that you can close your eyes when you listen to this song and imagine the overwhelming beauty of nature that moved Dave in that moment of time.
